How is the consumer meant to source and buy local, support local, make ethical and healthy food choices IF NO-ONE IS SELLING LOCAL?! THIS IS THE DISCONNECT!!! We need MORE farms selling direct to consumer. This is great for EVERYBODY 👉stabilizes local economies 👉provides food security 👉creates employment 👉if more farms sell, the farm to fork movement will grow…AND PRICES LOWER! 💥G

We raise 4,000 chickens per year and sell them direct to consumer locally through farmers markets and our Lowcountry Farm Box subscription service. We like our chickens to forage more than anything, but we still supplement them with certified organic grain. They get a little less than 1/4 pound per bird per day and they are always really happy to get their supplementation. This provides them with additional minerals and protein to guarantee a balanced diet and healthy, happy birds while they rot
